Overview
PDFCreator by PDFForge has made changes to the way the new patches for PDFCreator free edition are handled silently.
As of version 3.2.1, it is noted that “From now on silent installation is only available for PDFCreator Business, PDFCreator Terminal Server and PDFCreator Custom”. In our testing of version 3.2.1 and version 3.2.2, we have confirmed that although the silent switch in the deployment logic will still work for some machines, we found that no machines joined to a domain, will work silently at all.
When adding a silent switch to the installation commands, we have found that the installer will not even run.
Because of this change, support for versions newer than 3.2.0 will not be supported until they are able to be run silently.

If you have a license key for PDFCreator Plus, you can pass it with this parameter. This allows to install and activate PDFCreator Plus in a silent setup.

If you have a license key for PDF Architect, you can pass it with this parameter. This allows to install and activate PDF Architect in a silent setup.
/ProxyName=<ProxyName:Port>
If you have a license key for PDFCreator Plus and you use a proxy then you can use this parameter to specify the name and the port of the proxy.

If you have a license key for PDFCreator Plus and you use a proxy with authentication then you can use this parameter to specify the username for the authentication.

/REGFile=<REGFile>
Allows to specify PDFCreator settings through a registry setting file. This allows to transfer settings to other computers in the setup.
/SILENT, /VERYSILENT
Instructs Setup to be silent or very silent. When Setup is silent the wizard and the background window are not displayed but the installation progress window is. When a setup is very silent this installation progress window is not displayed. Everything else is normal, so for example error messages during installation are displayed.
If a restart is necessary and the ‘/NORESTART’ command isn’t used (see below) and Setup is silent, it will display a Reboot now? message box. If it’s very silent it will reboot without asking.
/NOCANCEL
Prevents the user from cancelling during the installation process, by disabling the Cancel button and ignoring clicks on the close button. Useful along with /SILENT.
/NORESTART
When combined with /SILENT or /VERYSILENT, instructs Setup not to reboot even if it’s necessary.
/LOADINF=”filename”
Instructs Setup to load the settings from the specified file after having checked the command line. This file can be prepared using the ‘/SAVEINF=’ command as explained below. Don’t forget to use quotes if the filename contains spaces.
/SAVEINF=”filename”
Instructs Setup to save installation settings to the specified file. Don’t forget to use quotes if the filename contains spaces.
/LANG=language
Specifies the language to use. language specifies the internal name of the language.
When a valid /LANG parameter is used, the Select Language dialog will be suppressed.
/DIR=”x:dirname”
Overrides the default directory name displayed on the Select Destination Directory wizard page. A fully qualified pathname must be specified.
/GROUP=”folder name”
Overrides the default folder name displayed on the Select Start Menu Folder wizard page.
/NOICONS
Instructs Setup to initially check the Don’t create any icons check box on the Select Start Menu Folder wizard page.
/COMPONENTS=”x,y,z”
Overrides the default components settings. Using this command line parameter causes Setup to automatically select a custom type.

The component names change from time to time. You can get a full list of components by installing PDFCreator using the /SaveINF parameter. This will create an INF file with your settings and you can take a list of installed components from there.
/TASKS=”task1,task2”
Specifies a list of tasks that should be initially selected.
Only the specified tasks will be selected; the rest will be deselected. Use the /MERGETASKS parameter instead if you want to keep the default set of tasks and only select/deselect some of them.
If a task name is prefixed with a “*” character, any child tasks will be selected as well. If a task name is prefixed with a ”!” character, the task will be deselected.
/MERGETASKS=”task1,task2”
Like the /TASKS parameter, except the specified tasks will be merged with the set of tasks that would have otherwise been selected by default.
Setup Command Line Parameters¶

We suggest using the MSI Installer if you’d like to deploy PDFCreator Professional or Terminal Server.

/Lang=en¶
Specifies the language to use. Please use the two letter ISO language name. The default language is the system language.
/Dir=”x:\dirname\PDFCreator”¶
Overrides the directory were PDFCreator gets installed. A fully qualified pathname must be specified. The path must end with ‘PDFCreator’, else it will be automatically added.
/NoIcons¶
Deselects the desktop link icons.
/COMPONENTS=”pdfarchitect”¶
Selects which additional components you want to install. Possible values are “pdfarchitect”, “hotfolder” and “images2pdf”. Set the value “none” to install no addtional components. If you don’t use the paramter all available components will be selected.

/ServiceUsername=”user.name”¶
PDFCreator Terminal Server requires an license service that regularly updates and renews the activation for all users. You can run the service as local system or use /ServiceUsername to select an user. This user needs to be able to contact ‘license.pdfforge.org’ and have permissions to write to HKLM.
/ServicePassword=”ABC1234!”¶
Sets the password for /ServiceUsername.
Before you install the software, log in Microsoft Windows with an Administrator privilege. After you run the install program, you will see a new printer added in your "Control Panel"->"Printers and Faxes " with the name " Easy PDF Creator".
Deploying Easy PDF Creator
The setup program of "Easy PDF Creator" supports very silent installation, you may use the following command to deploy "Easy PDF Creator",
EasyPDFCreator.exe /SP- /VERYSILENT
Sometimes the setup program requires user to restart Microsoft Windows, therefore, another parameter /NORESTART can be used to prohibit user's computer from rebooting,

Version 1.1.0 added the ability to install the latest version without uninstalling the previous versions and rebooting. This allows for a completely silent install which you couldn't do in version 1.0.1.
Please note Version 1.2.1 includes several files related to bundled toolbars that will trigger alerts in NOD32. The author claims these are false positives that only NOD32 detects. See DoPDF for an alternative that does not include toolbars.

You can also use the /FORCEINSTALL flag which ignores previously installed versions. You might want to consider using this.
If you don't want the Yahoo Search toolbar installed in browsers add the /DontUseYahooSearch switch. This is the same as using "Toolbar=0" in the INF file.
This is a sample PDFCreator-1_2_1.inf without the toolbar or desktop icons, pdfcreator silent install. Setting NoIcons=1 will remove the start menu folder.
Please consider the "Dir"/"Lang"-Setting in the inf file, pdfcreator silent install. You can dynamically change it, depending on your OS (x86 or x64) and language, or take the standard setting, pdfcreator silent install. PDFCreator 1.0.1 is not available as an MSI package. Customization has to be prepared via commandline arguments to the installer, or via Blackmagic Fusion Studio Crack LOADINF method; both of them allow for a customized installation without toolbar and desktop icon.
Note that the uninstall string is "PDFCreator" for both versions, so I added a check on the executable version number just to make sure. The version in the executable for 1.0.1 is "1.0.0.1" rather than the expected "1.0.1.0".
Note also the call to unins000.exe before install/upgrade. This should remove any previous versions that may have been manually installed, pdfcreator silent install. The exit code will be 0 if a previous installation was removed, otherwise it is undefined.

Disabling Automatic Update Checking
The update interval can be controlled or disabled by two methods: importing a registry file or calling the reg command as an additional install/update action.
The following values can be forced for the UpdateInterval key:

PDFCreator 0.9.3 is available as an MSI package. Using the standard MSI install/uninstall seems to work for me.

/COMPONENTS=”program,ghostscript” – Overrides the default components settings. In fact using this command line parameter causes Setup to automatically select a custom type.
/NORESTART – When combined with /SILENT or /VERYSILENT, instructs Setup not to reboot even if it’s necessary.
/LOADINF – Instructs Setup to load the settings from the specified file after having checked the command line.
